Much of our success since our inception can be attributed to our President., Mr. Emmanuel Akhabue and Vice-Prsident, Mr, Peters Evbota. We have been able to forge unity amongst our members within the community in England. Recently, August 2008, we porganized a medical mission to Ekpoma. The mission consisted of doctors from the United States of America, assisted by local staff and doctors. The mission was a great success and it is being anticipated that a second medical mission will take place in 2009. Photographs of this event in Ekpoma can be viewed in our photo gallery.

The Onogie of Ekpoma, His Highness, Anthony Abumere II and the Esan West Local Government Chairman, Mr. Felix Godsent Akhabue gave their blessings to this mission.

Though it has not occured, we did plan a Football tournament last year and had to shelve it for the medical mission. We are seriously planning it for a future date.

After several anticipated visit by the Chairman of Ekpoma Local Government, Mr. Akhabue, he finally arrived in the United Kingdom with his wife.

Though the visit was a short one, the Chairmn was able to meet with most of our members. These meetings afforded everyone the opportunity the talk about the problems our people face at home and request the Chairman to kindly look into the more pressing ones - medical help for the sick, children and elderly. Water in ishan land has been a problem. We also talked and hoped that the Chairman will consider this in deliberations.

It remains for us to call on all Ekpoma indegenes to please make efforts in attending our meetings. This is the only avenue we have in knowing where you are, what you are doing and how we can assist; or you can assist us.
